BH Cosmetics Roll-up Brush Case

For a long time I've wanted a (fake)leather brush roll to hold my brushes while travelling, but always got discouraged by how much they costed. I suck big time at handiwork so sewing my own was out of the question.
Getting to know BH Cosmetics solved this problem of mine tho.

I have some reviews up already (here, here and here) and I'm confident to say that BH Cosmetics are in general quite good and cheap at the same time. (The not so good ones I haven't reviewed yet)

To get to the point: I got my first brush roll from BH Cosmetics and I like it!
While mine is red - there was some kind of sale going on with red brush rolls - the black is still available.

It is totally the same, only the color is different.

Description: "If you're looking for a way to glam-up your makeup brushes, you've come to the right place! Our faux-leather, roll-up makeup brush case, in bold black, is stunning and practical for all makeup users and professionals. This case can keep 15 of our individual makeup brushes clean and safe as you travel! "

Sorry for the lousy background! Anyway, there are 15 pockets -bigger and smaller ones- to hold your brushes, but you can easily store more insides, since the smaller pockets are big enough to hold two of your thin-handle eye brushes. The bigger ones are big enough to fit in the thickest powder/kabuki brushes. And if it's still not enough, there's an extra pocked closed with zip.

I really like that I can pack my brushes and carry them safely when travelling or going somewhere. The brush roll weighs not much and retail price is USD 8.95, which is like Whoa~
Not to mention that BH Cosmetics has sales regularly, so you can grab one for even half price too!

Definitely recommended! ^.^

BH Cosmetics highlighter brush and FOTD featuring Illamasqua products

Do you know the brand BH Cosmetics? No? A little while ago I didn't know them either, but I got curious and now I'm thankful I ventured into their realm. Now I own palettes, lipglosses, bases, brushes, brushrolls. And I love them all!

Here I'm showing you a great highlighter brush. Many use blush or overall brushes to apply highlighter, but personally I don't fancy this method. If you want soft features and achieve it fast then it's ok to use them, but I like my brushes to be precise. It's no problem for me to work longer for the finish. If you want sharply contoured face you can't run around with a huge powder or round blush brush, right? I hate long bristle brushes....they bend everywhere but where I want them. @_@

This highlighter brush is smaller than any blush brush but bigger than concealer brushes. I'd say its diameter is similar to the Sigma P84 Precision Angled brush (here), just the handle is shorter. The bristles look long, but they are packed tightly and pick up and place powder/creme/liquid nicely and precisely. *sigh*

It retails for USD 3.95 which is like whoaaaaaa!!!! and BH Cosmetics always has sales on their website. Like right now too! ;)

If seeing the price you think the quality sucks then let me assure you, it's gooooood!!!

FOTD
Nothing special, I just felt like wearing something not so boring. It's summer, after all!

Sigma brushes

As part of my December-January online shopping spree I ordered some more Sigma brushes, since they had free international shipping for a cyber monday sale. I think it was cyber monday, but correct me if I'm wrong. It was such a popular occasion that Sigma's site went down in a blink for half a day or so. It was a one day occasion, so imagine the brush-hoarders' attack on the website HAHA
Thankfully Facebook was the saviour and there we were informed and everyone became more and more crazy when some girls were able to finalize their orders while the majority not.

It was so exciting! *.* I'm a pervert to find this exciting but once I was in, it was tricky to navigate the pages, since the 404-error message was high on my heels =D

Anyway, it was worth it and here is my small haul:

3 brushes and a free gift brush

I fancy Sigma's packaging of red satchet. It seems to be basic coz my first order a year ago came in the same too.
BTW, is it possible that I missed to make a review for the brushes I bought then? o.O Yikes.....
Sorry, I'll repent my sins, promise!

First is the E65 Small Angle brush

Description: "Essential for the application of gel or cream eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line. This brush is also excellent for filling out the eyebrows. Synthetic bristles."

For some reason it was easy to focus on the material used as background but not on the bristles hehe, sorry!

The letter on the wand are holographic! woot *.*

I bought this brush for eyebrow correction, nothing else, and I prefer it that way. However, it's stiff enough to be used as an eyeliner brush too, since the bristles are packed closely, no strays are to be found, and it doesn't wiggle, so the application of gel or cake liner would be precise too.

Now it costs USD 9 which is super cool IMHO, and for that 9 dollars you get a really good brush!

Next brush is E40 Tapered blending brush

Description: "Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles."

What can I say? I love it! Such long bristles usally freak me out because I feel out of control and don't know  what will turn out of my blending, but this surprised me. It did not muddied up the blending nor did it sheered out the colors.

It sells for USD 11. Nice price, don't you think?

Next one is my latest addition to my sigmax HD babies: P84 Precision Angled brush

Description: "The P84 Precision Angled Brush is the perfect brush for precise, yet blended application of contouring products. It seamlessly applies cream, powder and liquid products to small areas. Features synthetic Sigmax HD fibers."

Pretty! *.* And so soft! ^.^
I have the F84 Angled Top Synthetic Kabuki brush too, love it too, but I find it too big for precise contouring. I prefer my darker line sharp, blended on the edges, but still neat and sharp. With the huge F84 it's impossible. Thus I had to buy its smaller brother, P84 and voilá I can draw all my darker lines the way I like them and then apply blush with the F84 :D

This brush is small enough to use for serious contouring, like completely altering one's bone-structure!^^
Love it!
It's USD 14, a total winner and must have in my opinion.

Finally the free gift brush: E25 Blending brush

Description: "Oval-shaped brush with gently chiseled sides. Blends and softens the look of powder or cream shadows. Ideal to apply eye shadow primer, base eye shadow colors, and blend harsh lines."

It's actually a mini/travel size (?) and my second piece of it, since this was the same free gift for my first Sigma order too! hehe
This brush is nothing spectacular, sometimes I have to work it stronger to achieve the desired finish, but it does the work and for USD 9! Also, it's handy to carry with yourself.

Etude House

In June I went on a bit of spending spree and ordered few....ahem....tons of stuffs. Since my salary is faaar faaaaar away from what would be sufficient for my makeup needs, I try to stick to cheap yet good quality stuffs. Like the Korean brand Etude House.
I'm always amazed at how good their products usually are, yet affordable. I wanna live in South Korea dammit! =)

Anyway, I think my only other EH review so far was about the super water and everything-proof Proof 10 Eye Primer (here).

It's time to move on and increase the number of my tags for the brand. I have a feeling that in the future it's gonna be a big number XD

I bought a Cream Touch Mini BB Brush Compact from ebay.

The seller, reira57 is nice, communicative and really helpful. She even included a freeby: Etude House Total Age Repair Royal Essence sample!

The brush itself is tiny: length is 11cm, brush width is 1,5cm, brush height is 2cm. The bristles are synthetic, soft and packed well, easy to work with, you won't get streaky base makeup left behind that would cause extra work.

It's suppesed to be a multi brush, for application of concealer, foundation, BB cream, highlighter, etc. Overall, cream products.
I'd say, due to it's small size it's not the best for BB creams and foundation as it would take forever to finish your whole face with it. I mainly use it for concealer, skintone correctors and such. It's faster than with a normal concealer brush, since the brush is about double the size.

I got mine for USD 5 plus a tiny shipping fee which is excellent! Even the usual, USD 8-ish price is good IMHO. I bet Korean girls have it for even less...ahh paradise! *___*

Very recommended!^^
