Edward Bess Ultra Slick Lipstick in Secret Desire

First Edward Bess review here: Edward Bess Ultra Slick Lipstick in the color Secret Desire.

Who could resist to purchase at least one of the lovely, hot, angelic, envied by tons of ladies Edward Bess' makeup?
I could not.I bought several ones. And this is the first I'm showing you....and maybe the best?

Click me!
For sure, lipstick-wise Ultra Slick Lipstick is a MUST-HAVE! Seriously!
Creamy, soft, smells heavenly, colors are complementing, the packaging is simple yet elegant.
Even though it doesn't stay on long but you don't mine reapplying, it just feels so good to do so!^^

This Edward guy or his marketing pro does know how to describe a lipstick so that anyone with a knack for sweet-talking runs to the nearest counter....look:

"Seduce the curves of your lips with irresistible, radiant color. This lipstick’s creamy, ultra-moisturizing formula drenches your pout with intense hydration for visibly softer, smoother lips. Build your lip wardrobe with all of Edward’s signature shades"

Feel the pulling? The longing? I told you so...

For some reason the official website doesn't sell Secret Desire, but Sephora does and other online shops too so go ahead and pull out your card because it's worth it! :)

Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton

Who wants another short swatch post? Raise your hands! :) Let's see:
Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton

And another Illamasqua stuff! HUH? I got hold of quite some so you'll see more from the brand LOL

So, Wanton is one of those heavily pigmented lipsticks Illamasqua offers.
They aren't the most creamiest lipsticks....I dare say they drag on your lips but after 3-4 second they melt and will stay quite long for a basic lipstick.
They don't fade unsighty, breaking your lips in two.
Also they does not dry out lips!^^

To tell the truth Wanton is a bit too intense color for me, but lightly applied I like to wear it even to work. :)

Sensai Vibrant Cream Color Lipstick

If you follow me on twitter, then you might have noticed that I visited Saint-Petersburg 2 weeks ago. And that I couldn't resist throwing a fortune away on souvenirs, books aaaand makeup!

Well, part of this hauling frenzy is the Kanebo Sensai Vibrant Cream Color Lipstick:

Sensai is a high-end branch of Japanese Kanebo and it means incredibly fine products!
And one of the things that represent quality best is lipstick. You got the scent, creaminess, pigments, feeling on your lips, and several little nuances that are totally personal.

Firt of all, the choice of colors for Vibrant Cream Color lipsticks is not much (15 check them here) and most of them are dark....and/or too dark for my taste.
Thus, I settled for the safest color:  VC 03 Tachibana

Testing makeup instore is tricky. You never see the real color of the product unless you take it home or they have a window and it's daytime full of sunshine. Well, I had neither, so I thought whatever it might turn out to be like, i would love it. I MUST love it. For its price I ought to.

Well, Tachibana (hmmm love its name) is a nice pinkish beige color with warm undertones. The photo above is the closest to reality. It almost looks orange! LOL

You see how warm it is? *sniff* I wanted a cool toned beige...anyway, this could be a MLBB (my lips but better) color but not for me.

Sensai Vibrant Cream Color VC03 Tachibana with flash
With flash it shows a color closer to my presale expectations. Totally loveable. See? I had to love it and now I've just confirmed my feelings! ^^

But back to the facts: the texture is creamy. No dragging, it melts onto your lips. Even dry lips will get plump wearing this. No ugly flaky skin pieces.
The pigmentation is good, no sign of bleedig or streaking.

Those who have a hard time with scented lip products will definitely love this: it's unscented!

The coverage is just as good quality as the lipstick itself. No lousy feeling, cheap materials, the cap closes well, the design is simple yet elegant.

The price is equally elegant too, I'd say. It sells for 40 dollars at major stores, so it's not for low budgets. But if you find a color close to your hart and want to surprise yourself on your Birthday, then go and get it! 8D

Another Illamasqua haul

Lately I've been tempted too many times by Illamasqua and have placed way too many orders. This post shows one of these orders. Expect more to come, as they dared to launch a 60% off summer sale too and I'm soooo powerless that I've already finalized my 2nd order batch from the same sale!!!! ayeeee *head@desk*

So, this box comes form a previous sale, when you had to reach an amount and got a pair of flase lashes for free. Correct me if the details were different, I might be mistaken.

Here are the things I bought:

Fundamental e/s palette  £ 30
I couldn't pass this chance and I'm so glad I didn't!

The palette consists of
  • 2 powder eyeshadows: Hype (bold yellow) and Inception (rich violet),
  • Cream Pigment in Bedaub (?) it's a mint green and I think it's Bedaub, however, it's not stated exactly on the website
  • Liquid metal in Surge. This one isn't stated clearly either, but they use "molten pewter" which is the description of Surge.

BTW, why does a Human Fundamentalism LE palette include colors from previous LEs? Bedaub was part of Toxic Nature in 2011 and Surge was in Body Electrics in 2009!

I'd expect Limited Editions to have limited colors, you know, not just 'let's cook up an interesting eye quad from existing materials'...

I was sceptical about Hype. Yellows are usually huge letdowns, but this was a positive surprise, it has strong color payoff and is a pretty yellow.

My only (personal) problem is the creamy texture of cream pigment and liquid metal. They are creamy, thus they crease like hell on me and slide around even on strong primers. The only way around is to use them on creaseless surfaces and not wanting to go to work or school wearing them.

The next contestant is Lipstick in Test  £15.50

Test is soft pink chocolate with matte finish according to themain site.
However, I don't know where it has any hint of chocolate.

It's a pinky nude or beige, that's for sure. And beige indeed comes from brown, but to call this chocolate brown is a far strech.

It sould be milk chocolate with tons of milk with some strawberries.

It drags a bit when applied, but stays on for long hours and fades gracefully. Also, thanks to its matte finish it doesn't feel too creamy which is horrible in the summer heat.

Illumine Oil in Volt £ 25:
This bottle of highlighter oil came out in 2009 as part of the Body Electrics LE Collection.

Really sorry for the rotated picture, I swear I'll smack the programmers of Blogger one day!

Above is how the oil looks like when spread lightly from the bottle. This is only one finger pressed to the mouth of the bottle.

This is blended, with flash, so you can see the shimmer particles.

And this is without flash, at the edges you can see how it looks when the light hits it. It's sheer but definitely buildable.
It also smells nice, kinda floral(?) but you know I suck at scents. Some people are deaf or blind or mute, I simply cannot differenitate between scents. I can only tell if what I'm smelling is clearly citrusy or floral, 'cold' or 'warm'. No more.

Main problem of Illumine Oil? The bottle! A squeeze tube or pump head would have been better, however  they could be clumped. With this kind of bottle you either press your fingertip to the hole and tap the oil onto your face (messy) or press your hand/wrist/arm and use your brush. But tell me, who wants to play like a kindergartener with crayons in hand. In the morning? Before leaving to work? There's no chance to stick your brush into the liquid as it won't fit. Unless you use aprecision eyeshadow brush. But that's not for highlighters/body oils! Nada!

If you plan to use this on more than your cheeks, like on collarbones or go for body painting then pour a little into a little cup and use your brushes.

Here is the freeby: False Eye Lashes No.23  £ 13.05:

rotated photos rulez
My first falsies from Illamasqua. Personally I never wear strip lashes because they are heavy, the band won't bend like i want it, they pull my eyelids and I keep shedding tears. Or so I thought they were. I have several boxes of those Chinese 10 pairs for 3USD falsies and they are sooo far from quality lashes! Mind you, the Chinese fringe lashes are good and I like to wear them...

So, this pair is lightweight - it is so easy to blink with these -, bends like a dream, fits to my lids, won't pull it, and it does not release the glue, sticking out at the ends.

Finally, Volume Mascara in Nocturnal £15:
This was on sale for £5 when I bought it, but it doesn't worth a penny.
Its building formula claims to lengthen, thicken and dramatize to extremes, but the most it does is giving a little color to one's lashes. I never go for brown mascaras, as they are too natural for me, and as I tried this on I was convinced that even the black (Raven) one wouldn't do much for me. It does not clump but makes natural-looking lashes, however, don't expect "dramatized to extremes" lashes from this mascara. If you have naturally long and curved but blond lashes, then adding color will definitely make them look longer and fuller, but that's not what I want from my mascara.

Missha What a Lovely Moments LE Collection - Lovely Pastel

My expedition into Missha Kingdom turned out quite fortunate and the first 'item' I want to show is actually a collection, the Signature 2012 spring-summer limited edition called: What a Lovely Moments.

There are two variations, Lovely Pastel and Lovely Natural. Since natural is a combination everybody owns or owned or will own in their beauty life, I passed it and chose the Lovely Pastel pack. And it turned out to be a good choice...even tho usually I stay away from pastels (not too flattering).

The collection consist of an eyeshadow palette, a lipstick and lipgloss, all from the Signature line. Comes in a sturdy, nicely designed box, and even the products themselves have the LE design, which was made in collaboration with designer Kim JeeHee.
(BTW, if anyone knows Kin JeeHee, plz, enlighten me! >.<)

Anyhow, you can check out the US Missha site and see if you find the collections worthy, or you can buy them individually and still come out at the same price (USD 54,97 is not a bad buy I think).

For the eyeshadow quad you can find an 'eyechart' right under the palette in the box, which surprised me so much that I oohed and aahed....I'm so shallow T__T But I'm used to it being on the bottom of the palettes! So I have an excuse! HAHA~

So, the eyeshadow quad, Lovely Pastel: don't expect strong colorpayoff, cottoncandy pink, green and yellowy white. It's mostly shimmer, but you can make out the colors on your lids. The 'eyeliner' brown is the strongest of the shadows and I actually like to use it.

The lipstick is a beautiful true pink (SPK106), creamy like heaven, simply melts onto your lips, has SPF15 PA+ and comes from the Signature Glam Art line. If you want only this one, you have to pay 15.99.

The lipgloss is also Signature Glam Art, has SPF12 and costs $15.99. The shape of the applicator is quite good. Usually I don't like these slant ones, but I have nothing bad to say about this. The color is more orange than pink, has a decent colorpayoff, so it can be worn alone in its glory or above the pink lipstick. They go well together! ^.^

And here are the handswatches of the eyeshadows, gloss and lipstick.

MAC Wonder Woman Lustre lipstick & Essence Fairy Tale Eyeliner Pencil

I'm not sure if MAC stores still carry the Wonder woman collection, but about 2 weeks ago or so the store nearest to me still had it. However, I wonder what was left of it by then.....imagine, the week, when the new Lady Gaga lippies came out I went to pick up the lipstick (not because I need one more, but it's just such a pretty color...duh)....and it was sold out already! 4 days! All it took the bitches, 4 days! Argh...they only had the lipgloss, which was pretty and all, but I wanted the lipstick T_T

Anway, back to Wonder Woman. The only item I found worth of my money was this liplustre: Marquise'D.
(BTW the shadow quads were utter crap)

As for the packaging, to me it looks like a child's play.
The color could be a nice neutral beige if not leaning into warm thanks to the golden flecks you can see below.

Texture is creamy and non-drying....it's lustre, right :)

Overall, I like it a lot, even tho it costed me ~25.50 USD

Since I have billions of items to write a review on, I'm featuring 2 things in one post. The following product is from an inexpensive drugstore brand I'm obsessed with.
Yes, Essence! Again....I think I'm sick. I really should say no whenever a new trend editions comes out. They re-use the leftover from previous collections, sometimes hardly altering them, except for the packaging. And just who wants to have doubles, triples, etc. in different cases? Not me. Yet I keep on buying them. >_>;
So, below is the only eyepencil from the late collection: Fairytale. (It was quite a pretty edition, I tell you!^^)

Is it sparkly like the rest of the collection? No. It's a mere black eyeliner pencil! Sporting the LE design. Cheating!

In the picture: one line (bottom) and 2 or 3 lines layered (top).
Nothing spectacular, not even a decent colored black eyeliner, not to mention its smudging. It will not stay in place even for a half hour.
Not worth the 3.50 or 4 USD I paid for it. (forgot its price)
