Package from Tavia & Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller

I reached 100 posts! wooot!
This is my 101st post, isn't it great? Okay, it might be nothing compared to other's 1000 or more, but certainly means a lot to me, as I'm new to beauty blogging! ^.^
Gives me strength LOL
So, driven by the high of 100 posts, I decided to hold a giveaway!

The bad news is that this giveaway will happen only when I reach 200 posts or 50 followers! Whichever comes first. Sorry!

These numbers are my current goals, but I'm a jobless college student munching on her last pennies LOL What did you expect?

Before you give up all hope for me, let me show you what my humble self happened to win on Tavia's giveaway over at Chic Profile!

A travel size Nivea hair mousse (have you tried their revamped hair styling stuffs? I love their fruity smell! ^.^), a L'oreal Cashmere Perfect liquid foundation, a Vichy Rehydrating Thermal mask and a lovely bracelet! This bracelet reminds me of MUFE's spring collection!

Thank you so much Tavia! ^.^ Luv ya! <3

Do you girls know her site? If not, then it's time to start stalking her! ;D But do talk to her eventually! She's really sweet and always replies! There are some super popular bloggers out there who don't reply to ever single comment, sadly.....But dear Tavia does!

I haven't tried everything yet, but the Vichy mask was immediately on my face after opening the package! LOL
Reviews will follow of course!

And now, a proper review: Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
You know, that fun roller to fight undereye puffiness and dark circles!

It has pretty bad reviews over the net, but ever since it was released I wanted one. The roll-on thing being the culprit, of course! ^_^;

What it claims:
In 1 Week: Under-eye puffiness is reduced and women saw dark circles diminished. With Continued Use: The severity of puffiness is further reduced and dark circles stay minimized.
Features:
Eye roll-on applicator stimulates micro-circulation
Caffeine - Decongests puffiness & diminishes dark circles
Pro-Vitamin B5 - Refreshes & hydrates the delicate eye area
Diminishes dark circles
Clinically tested and reviewed by dermatologists and nutritionists.

Now, let me tell you, it does none of the above! Not one thing! Nothing!
Luckily I hardly ever have puffed eyes (as I tend to sleep 10 hours ROFL), so I don't know if it does anything to puffiness, but my horrible, unhealthy looking circles stayed in place.
I've been using it for 2 months (morning and evening), but nothing happened.

The procedure is fun! Rolling and circling and all, and the little metal ball is always pleasantly cold, even tho I don't store it in the fridge.
It gives enough moisture to the delicate under-eye area, but it's nothing special. Just enough to avoid flaky, dry skin going wrinkly.

The amount is 15 ml (0.5 oz) which is quite a lot, considering I've been using it for more than 2 months and only 1/4 of it is gone! When will I finish it? HAHA

It costs about $10, which is pricey for something that DOES NOTHING!
I got mine when it was on sale for 8 or 8.5 USD, but I wouldn't repurchase it.
It's fun to use it, yet totally worthless.

Vichy Normateint Fond De Teint Anti Imperfections Foundation

I have Vichy Normateint Foundation in the color of Nude. Bought it this summer to keep my T-zone under control. Thought this color would fit me. With something "nude" you can't go wrong, right? HAH You're wrong!
This proved to be tad too dark for me, so I'm using it for contouring, under cheekbones and on sides of nose, sometimes on the jawline too.

This way I wasn't able to properly test on my oily zones. Only my nose can serve as proof.

Claim: For a clear, matt long lasting complexion.

SPF 20.
Shine, blackheads and open pores: trying to hide these flaws with a foundation can make them stand out even more.
To regain a visibly clear, matt, pure complexion that lasts all day, you need a foundation able to hide imperfections without creating plastery build-ups upon contact with excess sebum.
Vichy Innovation - NormaTeint.
Sebum-proof texture enriched with a purifying active ingredient.
  • Anti-caking action. The NormaTeint texture has been formulated using ultra-fine pigments specially designed to remain evenly distributed in the foundation for easy application without build-ups. The foundation glides evenly over skin, creating a veil of cover that is smooth, ultra supple, matt and non-cloggy.
  • High-resistance action. the volatile oils within the formula evaporate on application. As it is light, the NormaTeint foundation remains stable upon contact with excess sebum. Foundation stays in place all day long. It maintains its colour freshness as well as its matt, velvety finish.
  • Enriched with Zincadone A, a powerful active ingredient designed to visibly minimise imperfections.

To get to the main point, I was disappointed. It held under my cheekbones without any problem, no cakeing or discoloration was seen.
The problem was my nose. I cleanse my pores there with much care. Usually I can avoide black heads, but you know, there's sebum in your pores all the time. You can't avoid it.
This foundation is meant to keep oils under control and make those problematic parts look flawless.
What you get in fact is optically opened pores, and minimal grease growing in your pores look like rising hills!!! This happens on the lap of my nose only. (hope you get what I mean).

This is the Nude color on my hand. At first glance I'd say oooh that's gonna blend in like dream, but somehow it doesn't. It stays a bit too dark to be used all over my face.

Everything else I'm too lazy to type in is in the quoted part above. Sun-screen, sebum control (?), minimized imperfections (?) and non-cloggy formula...

Will not buy again. Use this until it lasts then bye-bye...

Dior 1 Couleur Powder Mono Eyeshadow & package from Jacqueline

Christian Dior 1 Couleur Powder Mono Eyeshadow. Before reading on, make note that the eyeshadow I'm reviewing is not the latest one! Beat me, but I can't remember what year this was released! This is a very big favourite of mine, that's why I'm writing this. Whether you want to read about old stuffs or not! LOL I'm evil and egoistic, I know!
I Couleur is in the shade of: Peach! Wait, I have a story!
Many years ago I was watching TV...some fashion channel, showing new makeups and tricks. It must have been my late elementary years. And then, at that holy moment I saw a beautiful eyeshadow! It was a TRUE peachy peach, with a hint of baby pink! *__*
I can't really describe, but the color payoff was strong, and it was soooooooooo beautiful and vibrant! I fell in love instantly! The worst part is I have NO idea what brand it was! *cries*

So, ever since then I've been in an endless search for that color. And this eyeshadow is the closest I could find.....although this is no match, truth to be told, thid doesn't even look like peach on skin, but I love it nevertheless!
As I've seen, this shade is discontinued. I'm not sure, but I couldn't find it on the Dior site. Bah....must be my stupidity too!
Anyway, here are my thoughts:
Old, as you can see, packaging is old but pretty. Can't be anything less, since it's Dior =D
The color is somewhere between orange, beige and peach, also has golden shimmers. It goes on smoothly, covers skin evenly and does not crease or fade. Oh, wait, it did crease on me in the summer heat, but when the weather is not that humid, it stays on pretty well.
Just a side note: I do not wear primer. So if you do, I bet this would stick to you like glue all day long!

Here is a swatch. Can you see it? It's in the middle. Forgive my crappy photo skills, I couldn't capture the color. It's much, much more vivid! Also, the lighting is horrible here (in my dorm room).

For slightly better view here is a look I made using this eyeshadow not long ago.

Vichy Normaderm Pro Mat

It's time for writing about my HG day cream: Vichy Normaderm Pro Mat. I always thought Vichy is not for me...always got irritated skin after using other Vichy products, so I was sceptical when I first found a sample sachet of Pro Mat in a magazine. But when I applied it I was drawn in immediately! So I bought another magazine to get another sample and finally bought the full size stuff. Now I'm in Heaven!
What Normaderm Pro Mat claims:
  • Instant matte effect and lasting shine control. UVA/UVB sunscreen filters protect against shine activating UV rays.
  • A recent advance in understanding shine-prone skin: daily UV rays can stimulate the skin to produce more oil and increase shine by 26%
  • "Dry Finish" Technology: a shine-control formula with blotting micro-spheres for a lasting mattifying effect. Excess oil is absorbed, skin is left smooth and even. Intra-pore LHA and Vitamin CG help control shine.
  • UVA/UVA Sunscreen Protection: SPF 15 protects skin from the sun's harmful rays. Regulates the appearance of shine. Prevents re-occuring oiliness caused by UV ray exposure.
  • Skin is ultra-matte, comfortable and velvety.Oil-free, light, non-greasy moisturizer. Will not clog pores nor dry out skin.Excellent base for makeup.

Well, I'm not someone with overly oily skin. Actually, I have dry and sensitive skin. Then why use this, you ask? Because my T-zone is oily and I hate even the less shining on my face....except it's an eyeshadow/gloss/whatever I put on. =D

The cream itself is green. Lighter color than the tube, but green. The amount is 30ml and it costs $21 on the US site. I got it for almost $25. In my stupid country we have to pay a lot more for everything good! >_> Although this cream holds only a little difference....I'm sure I'll rant about this more in the near future.

I have to squeeze a lot to cover only my face since the formula absorbs in a blink and I don't have enough time to spread it evenly. I have a feeling I'll finish this tube in record time. But it worths the annoyance! It hydrates the dry parts perfectly, and mattifies the T-zone all day long. First time in my life my skin is under control!

I started to use this in August while humid heats were daily. Before, when I sweated under the sun, my T-zone stayed shiny afterwards, which is not just disturbing, but ugly too. Even if it was sundown I felt like each passbyer must have thought I was still sweating or God knows what just because my forehead and nose was shining like diamond! @_@ I'm paranoid, I know!

Now Pro Mat does miracle! After sweating from heat I got my matte skin back! I was sooooo happy! Now that it's fall, it works just as good. I'll see how it performs during winter. Will the hydration be enough for the cold weather?

I got mine in a pharmacy (that's the common place here for Vichy products) so I don't know how it is in other countries.....drug or department stores? Anyway, the online store is a good source! I'd recommend this to everybody who has the tiniest problem with shine control! For more problematic skins, I wouldn't swear this is the ultimate weapon, I have no idea, but this worth a try, right? It might be perfect for your skin......and don't forget, using more of the same skincare line helps maximizing the result!
