Kokuryudo Hipitch Deep Cleansing Oil

If you plan to try all the cheap cleansing oils found on ebay, you might want to reconsider this one: Kokuryudo Hipitch Deep Cleansing Oil.
It's not as horrible as the The Face Shop Water Bright Cleansing Light Oil - don't worry! - which received the WORST pledge from me, but not as great as the Bioré one either.
Now I realize that the "light" word in TFS's name stands for I-hardly-remove-anything....but why make a cleansing oil that cannot remove even regular foundation (not to mention mascara)???

Anyhow, this post is about Kokuryudo's Hipitch Deep Cleansing Oil and with 'deep' we cannot go wrong, can we?

Sadly mine came with a broken nozzle - thank you dear postmen! - but the seller was nice and offered partly refund and eventually I refilled the oil into the Body Shop bottle which I kept for later use. Hey, the bottle looks cute! And worths more than the oil it held. =.=

250ml sells for around 15 USD on ebay which is not bad IMHO.

How does it perform? Average.
Seemingly removes everything, but you still have & feel a little residue on your skin so better follow up with a foam/cream/milk or any type of cleaner you like to be on the safe side. If you decide to use a cleaner on pad you'll see why I recommend a follow-up cleansing.

The bottle itself isn't an eyecandy and there are better cleansing oils out there so I will not repurchase....but continue my experiments. :)

Worst cleansing oil ever!

Yes, I met the worst cleansing oil ever: The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Light Oil.

It exist. I never would have belived that a cleansing oil could be so horrible that I'd wish it had never been made.

I don't even bother to make photos, the stock photo is enough to show you what to stay away from.

Description: "A fresh cleansing oil for oily skin, cleansing thick makeup and impurities with light touch (contains natural rice bran ingredients, mineral oil free)"

Well, by now we all know how cleansing oils work. You pump some into your palm, massage it onto your
dry face, then you add a little water to emulsify it. Massage it a bit more, then rinse it with water.
The texture of the oil is either thick or lighter, but when emulsified it gets more runny.
Rice Water Bright Cleansing Light Oil on the other hand works the opposit way. It's runny when put on skin and becomes tick and sticky when added some water.

I think it's due to its runny texture that it gets into my nose and mouth (even though I keep it closed!!!) and I have to taste it all the time! bleah~ It does not taste good let me tell you...

The Face Shop claims that this oil removes thick makeup. LIE! It's unable to remove everyday BB creams and light makeup! The towel itself removed more foundation than the oil itself! Horrible! I had to follow up with other cleansers, like foaming or creams to get all makeup and impurities off my skin.

Not to mention it leaves behind an oily residue that also requires other cleansers to remove.

The scent is pleasant however, and the design of the bottle is pretty. I kept it for further usage.

The bottle holds 150ml of cleansing oil and sells around 13-14 USD on ebay.

I say, stay away from The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Cleansing Light Oil! Save your money and spend it on better products!

HG - Bioré Cleansing Oil

Let me show you my so far HG cleansing Oil, which was part of the enormus haul I did this winter and came from the hideous Sasa.com: Bioré Cleansing Oil

The tiny bottle, which helds 150ml of liquid costed USD 9 on sasa.com, so it's not the most expensive but not the dirt cheapest cleansing oil out there. A little bit more amount sells for less on ebay. However, I stress that this is my HG!
I'm not saying I've tried every single cleansing oils up to date (I'm not crazy enough to shell out heavy bucks for a bottle of Shu Uemura....), but I'm ultimately pleased with this. :)

Funny Engrish description on the back =D

And for the first time in my life, I found everything that was cleaimed there proved true! ^.^

Okay, a little cheating there....fibre mascaras seemed a bit to much for it :) It couldn't remove them entirely, a little bit always remained on my lashes, but everything else (waterproof too) went down the drain with ease.

It says 4 pumps is needed. For me, 4 pumps had to be pressed when I had on heavy makeup, with lighter makeup only 3 pumps were enough.

The scent: OMG the scent! Heavenly! So far the most pleasant one I've encountered =) On the bottle it says  'fresh fruits', well, I have no idea what these fruits might be, but I love to sniff them :)

Deep cleansing? Oh yes! It leaves my skin soft anf opens up the pores. It removes a lot of dirt from the pores but afterward I can easily squeeze out the excess that remained there, and this, I wasn't able to do with other cleansers!

Also, it doesn't dry out my skin! YEY!

As for usage in the shower? I never use cleansing oils while in the shower, always before. Waste of time, I know XD
But others use this in thw shower, so it must work. Plus, the texture is not runny, watery....rather it stays where put (not sticky tho), so I see it quite capable of removing makeup while you have shampooed hair everywhere.

Description: "Biore Cleansing Oil effectively dissolves and removes stubborn makeup, including waterproof mascara, while lifting away dirt and impurities. Unlike other cleansing oils, it leaves no greasy film on your face and maintains the skin's natural moisture balance. It does not emulsify upon contact with water, thus maintaining its optimal cleansing performance at all times. Just apply with dry or wet hands and rinse off with water for that clean and fresh feeling!"

Pros:
- removes even waterproof makeup
- inexpensive
- smells heavenly
- does not dry out skin
- deep cleanses
- opens up pores for further cleansing
- leaves skin soft
- not runny texture
- usable in shower (have not tested in action tho)

Cons:
- fibre mascaras won't be removed completely

Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil

I have a LOT of reviews waiting for posting. I'll try to do some on Sunday and.....Sunday. Then I go home for a long weekend. So during that week no reviews.

Today, I write about Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil.
I wanted to try a pure oil cleanser after falling in love with Shiseido Beauty Voltage Make Off. It was an oily gel and LOVE!

I was broken a month ago (when I bought Kose), so I had to exclude Shu Uemura and DHC oils. I'm still wondering if it worths to shell out that much money for a bottle (mineral) oil when I can find an equal for less.
I have not tried them myself, but judging from the raves, Softymo White is far from them. Oh, no! Wait! I did try DHC Cleansing Oil! (I got a load of samples of it LOL) And that was more than enough for a thorough trial. Ah, that's another post, so back to Softymo!

Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil can remove make up and dirt effectively. It removes excess horny layer with melanin and makes your skin transparent and soft.

Where should I start?
The smell.
It's horrible! It must be the mineral oil....anyway, they should have put in some lemon or flower or whatever ingredient! Even if it just softened the smell, it would have been better! It's so disgusting when I scrub my face!

I need 2 pumps for my face, and 1 extra for my eyes. I rub it on dry skin for about a half minute, maybe one minute (depending on the amount of makeup I had on), emulsify with a little water, rub it more and rinse it with water.
And here comes another personal problem! With Beauty Voltage I got used to open my eyes to see if there was mascara left on my lashes. I could do it without stinging and being blinded. With Softymo it's impossible. I know no normal human being would open her eyes while using makeup remover, but I was free to do it, dammit!
Now I have to rub the mascara off carefully, coz the oil gets into my eyes and stings lightly if I don't hurry! Not to mention opening my eye! It's impossible. Even if I were to tolerate the stinging, I wouldn't see anything! The oil makes this white haze on my eyeballs so that I can't see anything. *grrrrr* When rinsing, I need to pay extra attention to this, spending some time on getting it out of my eyes.

The feeling it leaves behind is.......tight. Stripped off of excess oils....nothing is left behind. Only dry and warm skin, needing hydration.
Cleansing power is good though. No trace of makeup/dirt. But I'd suggest using toner and other skin care steps you usually do.

Oh, yes. The WHITE label! You think it helps fighting melanin production, thus helps the anti-freckle products, right?
I highly doubt so!
It's just some oversized letter for better advertising, which I fall for too.
It does nothing! If stripping your skin off of the half-dead skincells, maybe the top layer too is considered reducing melanin, then this might work. IF!

The bottle is inconvenient if you want to take it with you on a travel becoz of the pump.

Anyway, for the price ($7.60 on Sasa) this amount (230ml) is a good deal. But there are better cleansers out there....
