Illamasqua 4-Colour Powder Eyeshadow Palette in Pink Smoke

Don't hate me but I have another Illamasqua palette for you: Illamasqua 4-Colour Powder Eyeshadow Palette in Pink Smoke.

Pretty, right? Two greys for smokey eyes and pinks (one light and intense) to give your smokey eyes a twist.
Sadly such gunmetal greys look horrible on me, so I can't go all grey but use it moderately.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton

Who wants another short swatch post? Raise your hands! :) Let's see:
Illamasqua Lipstick in Wanton

And another Illamasqua stuff! HUH? I got hold of quite some so you'll see more from the brand LOL

So, Wanton is one of those heavily pigmented lipsticks Illamasqua offers.
They aren't the most creamiest lipsticks....I dare say they drag on your lips but after 3-4 second they melt and will stay quite long for a basic lipstick.
They don't fade unsighty, breaking your lips in two.
Also they does not dry out lips!^^

To tell the truth Wanton is a bit too intense color for me, but lightly applied I like to wear it even to work. :)

Illamasqua Sirens 4-Colour Powder Eyeshadow Palette

Another short swatch post, this time about the Sirens 4-Colour Powder Eyeshadow Palette of Illamasqua.

To make it extremely short: this is the only product of the brand so far that I don't like.

The colors....somehow they look better in the pan >.<
I can't imagine wearing those blues unless for a retro party #_#

Illamasqua Powder Blusher swatch - Create

Just a short swatch post. This time featuring a Powder Blusher from Illamasqua in Create.

The color is warm peachy honey(?). Thanks to the strong pigmentation it shows beautifully on fair and medium skintones.

Those with warm tones will love it and the neutral or cool-toned girls will need to coordinate the rest of their makeup accordingly.

The Illamasqua website doesn't list this color ATM, but I hope they will get it back soon.

Illamasqua pencil swatches

Next up form my Illamasqua hauling craziness is Fat Pencil in Perverse and Medium Pencil in Strumpet.

Scored these during the big summer sale, each for GBP5 which is a good price IMO.
Fat Pencil (Perverse) on the left is pale gold shimmer (indeed it is), however on the official Illamasqua swatch it looks much darker.
Medium Pencil (Strumpet) on the right is a classic cherry red. And truly it is! Even tho I don't wear red lipstick (they unflatter me), one cannot live without makup for a killer red lip! :D

Both pencil applies nicely, no dragging whatsoever. =)

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Resolute and Electrum

Yet another Illamasqua post :)
I can't seem to be able to put the brand down. This time I'm showing two of their Liquid Metals: Resolute and Electrum.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal - Resolute
Illamasqua Resolute
As the official site says Resolute is metallic ruby and this time I have nothing else to say. It is, and it speaks for itself.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal - Electrum
Illamasqua Electrum
Electrum, aka antique gold is something everybody should own IMHO! Perfect for playing the creative MUA! :)

BH Cosmetics highlighter brush and FOTD featuring Illamasqua products

Do you know the brand BH Cosmetics? No? A little while ago I didn't know them either, but I got curious and now I'm thankful I ventured into their realm. Now I own palettes, lipglosses, bases, brushes, brushrolls. And I love them all!

Here I'm showing you a great highlighter brush. Many use blush or overall brushes to apply highlighter, but personally I don't fancy this method. If you want soft features and achieve it fast then it's ok to use them, but I like my brushes to be precise. It's no problem for me to work longer for the finish. If you want sharply contoured face you can't run around with a huge powder or round blush brush, right? I hate long bristle brushes....they bend everywhere but where I want them. @_@

This highlighter brush is smaller than any blush brush but bigger than concealer brushes. I'd say its diameter is similar to the Sigma P84 Precision Angled brush (here), just the handle is shorter. The bristles look long, but they are packed tightly and pick up and place powder/creme/liquid nicely and precisely. *sigh*

It retails for USD 3.95 which is like whoaaaaaa!!!! and BH Cosmetics always has sales on their website. Like right now too! ;)

If seeing the price you think the quality sucks then let me assure you, it's gooooood!!!

FOTD
Nothing special, I just felt like wearing something not so boring. It's summer, after all!

Ok, it's a half-faced FOTD, and sorry for the acnes and lousy application....>.<

Illamasqua Sheer Lipglosses

Yet another Illamasqua post, this time lipglosses.
I told you I had bought way too many Illamasqua stuffs, right? =]

This time I won't write so much, let the glosses talk for themselves: Sheer Lipglosses

Illamasqua Sheer Lipglosses with flash

Colors from left to right: Tantrum, Electrify, Provoke, Soul, Violate

Illamasqua Sheer Lipglosses without flash

Tantrum and Violate are quite badass colors, definitely not for everyday use. However, if you apply just a little of Tantrum and are brave enough for such strong colors, then you'll love it!

Here are the swatches, in the same order:

Electrify, Provoke and Soul are perfect to use anytime. Oh, and Electrify is my favourite :)

All color are still listed as 'on sale', so if you like any, go and grab it until the Illamasqua Summer Sale is still on!
Retail price is 13 GBP but now it's only either 5 or 7.50GBP!

The glosses have a soft sweet scent, and they are moderately sticky. Just a tiny bit. :)

Another Illamasqua haul

Lately I've been tempted too many times by Illamasqua and have placed way too many orders. This post shows one of these orders. Expect more to come, as they dared to launch a 60% off summer sale too and I'm soooo powerless that I've already finalized my 2nd order batch from the same sale!!!! ayeeee *head@desk*

So, this box comes form a previous sale, when you had to reach an amount and got a pair of flase lashes for free. Correct me if the details were different, I might be mistaken.

Here are the things I bought:

Fundamental e/s palette  £ 30
I couldn't pass this chance and I'm so glad I didn't!

The palette consists of
  • 2 powder eyeshadows: Hype (bold yellow) and Inception (rich violet),
  • Cream Pigment in Bedaub (?) it's a mint green and I think it's Bedaub, however, it's not stated exactly on the website
  • Liquid metal in Surge. This one isn't stated clearly either, but they use "molten pewter" which is the description of Surge.

BTW, why does a Human Fundamentalism LE palette include colors from previous LEs? Bedaub was part of Toxic Nature in 2011 and Surge was in Body Electrics in 2009!

I'd expect Limited Editions to have limited colors, you know, not just 'let's cook up an interesting eye quad from existing materials'...

I was sceptical about Hype. Yellows are usually huge letdowns, but this was a positive surprise, it has strong color payoff and is a pretty yellow.

with flash
My only (personal) problem is the creamy texture of cream pigment and liquid metal. They are creamy, thus they crease like hell on me and slide around even on strong primers. The only way around is to use them on creaseless surfaces and not wanting to go to work or school wearing them.

without flash

The next contestant is Lipstick in Test  £15.50

Test is soft pink chocolate with matte finish according to themain site.
However, I don't know where it has any hint of chocolate.

It's a pinky nude or beige, that's for sure. And beige indeed comes from brown, but to call this chocolate brown is a far strech.

It sould be milk chocolate with tons of milk with some strawberries.

It drags a bit when applied, but stays on for long hours and fades gracefully. Also, thanks to its matte finish it doesn't feel too creamy which is horrible in the summer heat.

Illumine Oil in Volt £ 25:
This bottle of highlighter oil came out in 2009 as part of the Body Electrics LE Collection.

Really sorry for the rotated picture, I swear I'll smack the programmers of Blogger one day!

Above is how the oil looks like when spread lightly from the bottle. This is only one finger pressed to the mouth of the bottle.

This is blended, with flash, so you can see the shimmer particles.

And this is without flash, at the edges you can see how it looks when the light hits it. It's sheer but definitely buildable.
It also smells nice, kinda floral(?) but you know I suck at scents. Some people are deaf or blind or mute, I simply cannot differenitate between scents. I can only tell if what I'm smelling is clearly citrusy or floral, 'cold' or 'warm'. No more.

Main problem of Illumine Oil? The bottle! A squeeze tube or pump head would have been better, however  they could be clumped. With this kind of bottle you either press your fingertip to the hole and tap the oil onto your face (messy) or press your hand/wrist/arm and use your brush. But tell me, who wants to play like a kindergartener with crayons in hand. In the morning? Before leaving to work? There's no chance to stick your brush into the liquid as it won't fit. Unless you use aprecision eyeshadow brush. But that's not for highlighters/body oils! Nada!

If you plan to use this on more than your cheeks, like on collarbones or go for body painting then pour a little into a little cup and use your brushes.

Here is the freeby: False Eye Lashes No.23  £ 13.05:

rotated photos rulez
My first falsies from Illamasqua. Personally I never wear strip lashes because they are heavy, the band won't bend like i want it, they pull my eyelids and I keep shedding tears. Or so I thought they were. I have several boxes of those Chinese 10 pairs for 3USD falsies and they are sooo far from quality lashes! Mind you, the Chinese fringe lashes are good and I like to wear them...

So, this pair is lightweight - it is so easy to blink with these -, bends like a dream, fits to my lids, won't pull it, and it does not release the glue, sticking out at the ends.

Finally, Volume Mascara in Nocturnal £15:
This was on sale for £5 when I bought it, but it doesn't worth a penny.
Its building formula claims to lengthen, thicken and dramatize to extremes, but the most it does is giving a little color to one's lashes. I never go for brown mascaras, as they are too natural for me, and as I tried this on I was convinced that even the black (Raven) one wouldn't do much for me. It does not clump but makes natural-looking lashes, however, don't expect "dramatized to extremes" lashes from this mascara. If you have naturally long and curved but blond lashes, then adding color will definitely make them look longer and fuller, but that's not what I want from my mascara.

Illamasqua Cream Eyeshadows and Liquid Metal

My very first Illamasqua order that arrived quite a while ago but I never got the chance to post it. However, since then I ordered much more stuff from them, and if I want to review everything, I'd better start posting now :)

Well, in my first package there are 3 cream eyeshadows (I'm not a fan of creamy eyeshadows so I picked the safest colors), and a Liquid Metal from the Art of Darkness collection. I know, it's a 2010 release, but it's my favourite LE, so I just HAD to have something from it :)

Let's start with the cream shadows, first:

 Stir:

It's  nice, pure white color. Great as a highlighter when applied sheer.

Command:

The homepage says it's "pinky brown with satin finish".

I'd say it has more like a bluish purple in it than pink.

Entangle:

Illamasqua says "dark slate grey, satin finish", but I dare say it's dark enough for black, especially pitch black if you pack black powder e/s on top of it too.^^

And finally the Liquid Metal in Stoic:

According to the website it's "metallic emerald".

Well, whatever it looks like in different lightings due to the yellow, blue (orange, purple??) shimmer particles, it's beautiful nonetheless =D

Have I mentioned that I don't like cream shadows? Why? Because they never stay put. Never. I tried them on bare skin, liquid foundation, cream foundation, powder foundation and eyeshadow primers (different kinds) and not one of them is able to keep them in place.
Setting with the same color powder shadow (or translucent if not having the same color) helps somewhat, but for a very short time and the sliding starts again...
I know, I should have applied for a more "sticky" eyelid when I was born, but I didn't know it back then! *sniff*

If you do an extreme makeup or have a fashion shooting, etc, then they are ok, I'd say use them on your face not just your eyes, set with a pro setting mist and keep your hands away from your head! XD
