Strawberrynet sales

I'm a huge fan of StrawberryNET.com. They provide free, safe and fast worldwide shipping and super prices. They have loyalty bonus too, up to 10%. There are big sales too. Frequently. Like now. 50-65% off.
To see the complete list of items, click here.
Some things I'm digging:

Anna Sui Liquid Eyeliner - $11
Bobbi Brown Protective Face Lotion (50ml) - $22.50

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick (Nectar) - $20
Clarins Expertise 3P Screen Mist (100ml) - $21
Clarins Express Compact Foundation - $19

Scott Barnes Crem Foundation - $14

Dolce&Gabbana Lipgloss - $21.50

Smashbox Eyeshadow - $10

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss - $9.50

And many more....

NOTE: these are unboxed items, so you will not receive the box of the item, only the product itself. Personally, I don't mind it because I'd either throw out the packaging or store it somewhere which is just silly. And you can be assured the product will be untouched too. I bought several unboxed items from Strawberrynet and never any one of them had the tiniest hint of being opened and/or used.

Max Factor Vibrant Curve Effect Lip Gloss

I'm super late with this review too, but here it is. Max Factor Vibrant Curve Effect Lipgloss.
Many have written about it, like Tavia did before, so click for comparison.

"Hot from backstage and tested by our top fashion make-up artists it’s curvy applicator hugs your lips for a fuller, more curvaceous look. With its high shine, non-sticky formula and 10 new irresistible on trend shades to try there’s no excuse to fade into the background."

Strolling by the shelves, the glosses call out to me with their vibrant colors and just who can resist such yummy-looking glosses?
I went for a "safe" color and chose 09 Sophisticated.

Love the slanted, curvy sponge applicator. It's quite nice and easy to apply with, but hardly gets enough product out of the tube, yet the gloss pumps out and slides down on the outside of the case. Nasty.

While intense and beautiful in the tube the color fades on lips. It becomes more like a shimmery clear gloss hinted with a little tint. You just can't pile up enough to get a decent color....not to mention THE color you were promised with. Here is the excuse to fade into the background....

The result you'll see on your lips is the lower half of the swatches.
Another Max Factor product to disappoint me.

Essence blush & nail polish

Another Essence post....yeah. Gotta post about other brands too, right?
Again some hard to find stuffs:

First a great blush from the Surfer Babe collection which was available this summer. Lately all Essence shelves are wiped clear in 3 or 4 days after release. Sometimes it's a torture to find a drugstore that still has the item you want.

I tend to think the only thing Essence cannot fail producing is blush. Most of their shimmer/face powder stuffs are good and many of the nail polishes too.
The lipglosses are usually crap (except some HG).
Do not ever use their eyeshadows though! Crapload....
The (mineral) foundations aren't that good either.

But back to the blush I'm going to review....Surfer Babe Powder Blush 01.

Nice, clear plastic case, summery feeling. Too bad there was none left when I went to buy one back when it was released...
I could only find one leftover, a broken one...

See? The lid is a bit broken, so when you close the case, the powder still gets air, which is not good, so now I'm trying to figure out a good solution. Maybe a powder puff would be best, but I couldn't find a fitting one yet.
Yes, I know, never buy any broken cosmetics but I just couldn't leave it. This was the only one left! ˇ.ˇ

Couldn't resist using it before getting good lighting for photos...

Lightweight pink color:

(and without flash)

It gives a nice pinkish flush to the cheeks without overdoing it. Just the right amount and shade for the healthy complexion.

Another old collection, Creamylicious.
I have only one nail polish from this release, Chocolate shake. I think the name fits well with the actual color.
You can see tiny little pink shimmers too if you look closely. I also love how the bottle is different from other nail polishes

Wasn't able to catch the color perfectly and the himmers are washed out too on this nail-swatch. Sorry for the unkept cuticles.

Hautelook sales

Just wanted to let you know that there are some good sales going on on Hautelook.com

DDF skincare

Prices are about half and lower than half prices. There aren't that much to choose from, but I could easily grab 3 or 4 things XD

LORAC Cosmetics

Mocktails and nail polishes for 3 USD? Single eyeshadows, lipglosses and lipsticks for 4?
Best stuffs are already sold out, but there are some foundations for $7.50, highlighter+eyeliner compact for $7, A few collections for around 10 dollars.
I'd say these are pretty good deals!^^

Stila

Mostly eyeshadows, glosses and blushes...ah and Barbie themed stuffs.

Rapidlash

Yesss~ Rapidlash! Strictly by timing, this sale should be up and going since it's 10am in my time (GMT+1), but it seems the site's clock is stuck. Anyway, I hope the prices will be reasonable for these lash growth enhancers.

Note: Hautelook is invite only. FYI if you happen to register, I will get $10 to spend. But, since I'm not that well financially, and they do not ship internationally, I don't bother to buy and have it shipped here for lots of money. I just like to drool over at the low prices >.<
If you're not registered already, her is my invitation link

Essence Moonlight Collection Shimmer Powder

Those in Europe must know the inexpensive and cute makeup brand Essence. Some American girls too coz as far as I know one store carries the brand.
Well, I splurged a while ago when I found a drugstore having stuff from previous collections. Couldn't miss the chance and bought a looooooot of stuffs. Do not be surprised if I blog about Essence only. >.<

The Moonlight collection (inspired by Twilight - New Moon) was available in November - December in 2009. So if you happen to see this somewhere jump on it!^^

Shimmer huh? Cullenesque shiny skin? No way~

And no, no shiny diamonds like on Edward hehe
It gives a true shimmer without tiny glitters showing. It's like moonlight shone upon the cheeks.

Simple but pretty, isn't it?
The packaging is tight and safe, not heavy nor light, just the right weight.

Direct swatch from the pan.

And on-hand swatch by brush. Click on it to see in better quality.
So fine particles!^^

It's definitely not for the whole face. Who would like to look like a shiny head....it might make you look like you had oily skin if you used it overly or on improper places.
This powder is for highlighting and as one it works great!

In some cases it sits in and enlarges pores on cheeks, but not always. I found it doesn't like watery and/or creamy foundations. Works best on dry bases. Right now I'm using RMK liquid foundation and it's like the shimmer is mixed with the foundation and isn't "sitting" on it. Don't know if you get what I mean. >.<
It's not that bad, just that it disturbes me when someone gets up-close to me and I think "OMG she must see the pores". From normal distance it can't be seen. And it's not everywhere, just the inner side of my cheeks nearing the nose.

An inexpensive must-have basic tool for everyone!

Sally Hansen Line Smoothing Mineral Lip Treatment

As I mentioned before, in a love and Bday package from Daituf I got a Sally Hansen lipgloss.
Now, here is a short review of it.

Actually it's a treatment against fine lines in the form of gloss.
The color is: Rose Quartz
I couldn't find this product on the Sally Hansen site anymore, so no proper description, just this:

  • The first ever mineral based lip treatment that replenishes distressed lips!

  • Micronized mineral pigments revitalize dull, dry lips making them look smoother and more youthful.

  • Dermatologist Tested - Hypo-allergenic

Love its color and the slightly cooling, tingling feel it gives^^

The sponge applicator sucks, can't get any product with it out of the tube, so I use the rod to apply the gloss onto my lips.

It's fantastic on chapped lips! Like you never had dried plum lips! No cracks or chewed lips!
I dare to say it makes my thin lips a bit thicker.......but might be my imagination too. =D

Color payoff is veeeeery good and it's sticky (personally I don't mind sticky glosses).
Definitely well worth its price!^^

E-store: Feelunique.

A while ago I mentioned a nice looking online store called Feelunique.com.
I was satisfied with their service. Free yet fast shipping, very careful and pro-looking packaging, and of course good prices.
That's why I went back and placed another order on 6th July. It was only a little bottle of GHD heat protector. This brand is unavailable in my country and I wanted to try it so badly.
Well, it never arrived. And after one month of waiting I contacted their customer service, and of course they never replied.
No changing the status of my order, or refunding, whatever.  I do understand them, I have no proof of not receiving the package but my word, which equals to nothing.
It's not that it was super expensive or anything, but I could have spent that money on many other things. And now I miss that little money, yet got nothing in return.

I don't want to say nobody should use that site. My first encounter with them was impeccable. Not like the second. Disaster.

That's 1 - 1 for Good vs. Bad.

At least a short reply would have been nice.
If they can't help, say "hey dumb customer, we ain't do a thing, you paid, we don't care"!

Lesson: be cautious in the realm of online stores!

Update: After contacting them on care@feelunique.com I got a replacement and in the same way, securely packaged.
Thank you!

MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer

I should have written this review like aeons ago, yet I just gotten to it now.
In my endless search for the perfect concealer (that covers horrible dark circles and fights the shadow of my glasses at the same time) I reached for MAC too. Of course. HEHE

When the SA matched me ( last fall I think...it's almost a year!) I thought I found the Holy Grail. She then warned me that the texture was thick thus I should lighten it up with eye cream or any moisturizer, plus, mix it with my foundation too. It was quite a weird idea to do all these things to make the concealer work, but I thought she was the expert, then bow my head.
Bad, baaaaad idea!
Before I let you know why it was a bad idea, see what the concealer is like:

A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin's imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains Silica to help adsorb the skin's oils. Concealer has an SPF of 35 and is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a medium to firm fiber brush (try the 242 Brush), a latex sponge, or the fingertips.

"Lightweight"? Bwahahaha
Well, If I applied the same amount as the SA, then the concealer was so heavy that it sat into the fine lines and created frightening white stripes! Yuck! And I haven't even mixed with moisturizer!
I found out it was best to use a veeeeery little amount on dry(!) skin. Not desert dry, but...close....let the eye cream absorb completely.
This way there is minimal creasing and it can't really be seen. In addition, you pat it away with your figertips once and they are gone.

[Sorry for not being able to present an untouched concealer! >.<]

The covering power is good, quite good. It's NW25 and I still find it too yellow, but blended right it's perfect and doesn't make my undereye area ashy like other lighter and pink undertoned concealers do behind my glasses.

To show its coverage I drew a black line with eyeliner.

Sample line:

Concealed line and an extra blot for color comparison:

Yes, the upper half of the line is almost invisible^^ About the same length of line is concealed as what still can be seen.
Quite good IMHO.
